A Little
History
The Jade property was subdivided from the Tapir Mountain Nature Reserve property in the 1990s to create a buffer between normal development and the nature reserve. The original owners of the property created a private road and cleared the area to build the original cabanas and lodge, which was known as Pook’s Hill Lodge for nearly 30 years.
Central to the lodge location is an ancient Maya Plaza that was partially restored from 1999-2004. In 2023 Mineral Resorts purchased the property to expand on the work and positive reputation of the original owners. Since that time we have updated the accommodations and added more amenities and accommodations to improve your stay.

We are not just investing in resorts, sustainability and conservation. We are also investing in the local communities and economy. We have already added 30 good jobs to the local economy and given significant contracts to local artisans and other workers.
We are working with local leaders to improve the future of the economy in Belize, develop new local production methods, and invest in the next generation of leaders.

Family
